One stamp reveals later history. The watch’s clasp reads DT3. Bob’s table maps DT to 2002 and 3 to March; it lists C or VC for 1978. A March 2002 clasp on a 1978 case supports a later-bracelet finding, not a counterfeit verdict.
Calibre labels also need the watch in front of the examiner. Bob’s feature calls the date movement calibre 1575, while its 1680 catalogue calls it calibre 1570. A movement photograph, bridge marking and architecture report preserve that disagreement instead of selecting whichever label helps a sale.
How does a vintage Rolex with service parts differ from a modern counterfeit?

Rolliworks, an independent Miami specialist, currently posts Rolex movement service starting at US$550 and formal estimates valid for 60 days. Its posted agreement does not state a separate diagnostic fee, so the owner should obtain that figure in writing rather than assume zero.
